Volunteering to help with 'Children on Sundays'
Each of the five ‘Children on Sundays’ groups has a Convenor who organises a team of volunteers to take turns leading (or just helping out) each session. This is really fun to get involved with. The volunteers are provided with age appropriate material for their particular session, including the story and some craft or activity suggestions. In the younger groups, song sheets are also available.
Before being included on the rota, all volunteers are required to undertake a free DBS check for the purposes of child protection. This simply requires you to complete a few forms and to provide certain specific identification documents. This can all be done at church on an agreed Sunday before or after the service.
Joining the Volunteers - Step 1
First you need to contact the Convenor for the group you wish to join (click the name to email), who can explain to you how it works in more detail. If you decide to go ahead, the Convenor will need your full name, phone number and email address to pass to our Safeguarding Officer, Andrew Freestone, who will contact you about the child protection paperwork.

3. The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) application
