Initial enquiries may be made by e-mail to ascertain the existence of registers covering the period required, and to receive a free estimate of costs involved. Searches are commenced only upon receipt of the Statutory Fee(s) stated below. Payments can be made by sterling cheque or bank transfer.
When the search is completed the enquirer will receive a transcription f all the details of the entry, if found in the register, and one certified copy if applicable.
The basic statutory fee is £31, which covers a search of one hours' duration and one certified copy if applicable.
The fee is for the search not just the certificate. Any additional search time is charged at £31 per hour or part of hour. Most searches are completed within one hour.
Additional certificates are charged at £14 each.
We regret that we are unable to provide PHOTOGRAPHIC COPIES of entries.
