About the Purcell Players
The Purcell Players is a flexible period instrument ensemble formed by the principal players of the Purcell Orchestra. They specialise in devising tailor-made programmes, often including readings from contemporary diaries and poetry. The musicians are all regular London period-instrument players, working with such orchestras and ensembles as the Hanover Band, the Orchestra of the Enlightenment, the Academy of Ancient Music and the London Handel Orchestra.
