Lent 2020 at St Mary Abbots
The Holy Season of Lent, our annual preparation for the commemoration of the Suffering, Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, is a time for spiritual development and growth - mirroring nature’s springtime all around us. This growth is based on a greater-than-usual focus on and attention to the things of God, which leads to the austerity and fasting and general simplification of life that characterises the season. Here at St Mary Abbots we offer again a rich diet to assist in this preparation: sermons, prayer, devotions, study. The programme is set out below, and we hope that one or more of these series will help YOU in your life of faith and discipleship.
But this is not to be a time purely for introspection, where we concentrate on ourselves and ignore everything around us. We grow closer to God by following the example of Jesus in his work of compassion, healing and reconciliation. In Lent, as always, we simply cannot love God without loving our neighbours.

MAY WE ALL THIS LENT FOLLOW THE WAY OF JESUS
