Lent Artist in Residence
We are delighted that Emma Windsor-Liscombe, will be painting in the Holland Chapel throughout Lent. We will be showing some of Emma’s preliminary works, along with her thought process behind the work which is based on the story of The Prodigal Son. She would be delighted for you to come and watch her paint and see how the work develops.
Emma studied at the University of British Columbia and is now at the Royal College of Art. She has exhibited at several galleries and won a grant from The Vancouver Foundation. |
The work so far
“I am an interdisciplinary artist with a practice based in painting and drawing. I work predominantly in oil, charcoal, and reclaimed materials. My art explores narratives of trauma, addiction, spirituality and the environment. Currently, I am interested in depicting ancient myth, stories of women from my family, and a contemporary visualization of my own myth. I explore these themes through narrative scenes, portraiture, and sculpture”.
