The Ramp Project
The PCC have agreed, on the basis of our Mission Action Plan findings, that one of our main areas of focus is to be
WELCOME!
As a first step to demonstrate our commitment to a warm and inclusive welcome, and as the first stage in a project to mark the 150th Anniversary, we would like to put in a permanent, attractive and safe ramp at the South Door, to help all those who would find this easier than the steps, to replace the existing temporary one, see below!

The Friends of St Mary Abbots, a separate charity, which has in the past raised funds for some wonderful projects to enhance the church building, made a collection for this project at the start of 2021, matching every £1 for every £1 donated, thereby doubling any gifts given.
If you feel able to contribute something towards a shared, practical expression of the welcome we proclaim, please could you send it to the Friends of St Mary Abbots by cheque, made payable to "Friends of St Mary Abbots Church Kensington" and send it to The Parish Office at St Mary Abbots Centre, Vicarage Gate, London W8 – or give to one of the clergy. INITIAL DESIGNS
Three designs were shown to the congregation on the church notice boards, the first for a curved ramp along one wall, the second an electric lift within the steps and a third which would gently increase the gradient to the level of the door, removing the steps. People were asked to vote for their preferred option.
The first design proved to be the most popular - a final version coming shortly.
