A DECLINING CHURCH?
You might be interested to know that at the main 2010 Christmas services – Nine Lessons & Carols, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day - about 1668 people joined in Divine Worship at St Mary Abbots. Next time you hear one of those conversations about the terminal decline of the Church of England this might be worth mentioning!
OUR MINISTRY TO TOURISTS AND VISITORS
Every day visitors from all over the world visit St Mary Abbots. Our team of church watchers extends them a warm welcome.
What better way could anyone find to start the New Year?
Well, one way might be to review your personal commitment to the daily ministry of our church. At St Mary Abbots it’s our privilege to keeping our church open every day of the year, an extraordinary resource valued by so many who come in to pray, to give thanks, to find help in despair. But this is only possible thanks to our team of CHURCHWATCHERS. We now have serious gaps in this provision and we are eager to find people who will commit to a couple of hours once a week, once a fortnight, once a month.
Contact Fr Rob 020-7937 2259 or Virger George MacAllan 020 - 7937 5136 – we’re always looking for new volunteers.
