Confirmation
Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which adults or children decide to affirm for themselves before a Bishop the promises made by their parents and Godparents at their Baptism.
The informal preparation sessions are led by Mother Emma and Father Evan (adults), with the Revd Pippa Turner from St Philips Earls Court Road. The youth group, year 6 and above, meets at 4pm for 45 minutes, while the adults are invited to the vicarages for informal discussions, drinks and nibbles at 7pm. Both groups look at subjects designed to help them understand and grow their faith.

At the end of the course both Adults and Youth join together for a special Confirmation Service, taken by the Bishop of Kensington, the Rt Revd Dr Emma Ineson. Supported by their friends and family, they make a promise to continue and uphold their Christian belief, are anointed with holy oil and then blessed individually by Bishop Emma. This year the service will take place at St Mary Abbots church on Thursday 4th June 2026 at 6.30pm.
