Flower Arranging Group
The beautiful flower display in the church is created by volunteers who kindly give up part of their Friday or Saturday afternoons to put together the arrangement, and we can only thank them for their time and efforts! As you can see from the photographs this adds a wonderful splash of colour to the front of the church.
If you would like to become one of our flower arrangers please let Leonora know on [email protected]. We will set up a time for you to meet one of the team to show you where the to find things in the vestry, where the stands and vases are kept, where to buy flowers and, if you are hoping to learning or perfect this new skill, a quick lesson on how to arrange the flowers. Leonora will talk you through how to claim expenses (and how much) and after you have made your first arrangement add you to the whats app group and to the rota.
While we hope to have flowers every week there are occasions when the plinth is empty - over Lent or Advent when the church is bare, or if we have a wedding or funeral and they leave us their flowers. We would also like to give a huge thank the Flower Corner, based outside the entrance to the church, for all their generous arrangements that they provide for all our major festivals such as The Patronal Festival, Pentecost, Remembrance Sunday and several more. The church this year at Christmas looked particularly splendid with masses of poinsettias, large amounts of greenery on nearly every surface and a beautiful huge Christmas tree donated by them.
