Sharing in the work of the Dalgarno Trust Food Bank

During lockdown many more of our neighbours in the Royal Borough have been struggling to feed their families and are relying  more heavily than ever on the food bank fund run by the Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust.

Before lockdown the foodbank had 250 registered users but  since 21st  May 2020 this went up to 1,300 unique visitors.   Every week the numbers are growing.

We would like to thank everyone who made generous financial donations over the last year, without this they would not have been able to continue, but more help is desperately needed and can be done one of two ways:

If you prefer to donate financially you can send a cheque, made payable to ‘Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust’ and marked ‘foodbank’ on the reverse to: The Dalgarno Trust, 1 Webb Close Dalgarno Way, London, W10 5QB.

Alternatively you can donate food directly.  When you next go to the supermarket why not buy an item or two extra from the list on the posters and bring it to the church on Sunday.    We are looking for cans, tins and packets of food and cleaning items, but please no fresh or refrigerated food, as donations will be stored in the church for up to four days before they are taken to the food bank on Thursday.  A wishlist of items can be found to the left.   Items can be left at the collection point just inside the West Door on Sundays between 9 and 12am, or during the week with the virgers in the vestry.

If you are willing occasionally to drive the donations from the church to the Trust on Thursday then Alex Skourtis, our contact at the food bank, would love to hear from you by text or phonecall: 07733268071.   It is only a few minutes drive from the church.
