Sharing in the work of the Dalgarno Trust Food Bank

Picture
We support the work of the Dalgarno Food bank, which is one arm of the Dalgarno Trust, a community group covering North Kensington.

The Food Bank is open every Thursday at their community centre and is for those in the locals who may be struggling to buy food.

A team of volunteers takes food from the church to be delivered to the trust before the food bank opens.

Before lockdown the foodbank had 250 registered users but since April 2022 this has gone up to 550.  Every week the number is growing.

So next go to the supermarket why not buy an item or two extra from the list on the poster above and bring it to the church on Sunday or during the week?    The donation boxes are just inside the church doors.

As you can see from the list above they are looking for cans, tins and packets of food and cleaning items, but please no fresh or refrigerated food, as donations will be stored in the church and we do not have a fridge!

You can also make a financial donation by going to www.justgiving.com/dalgarnotrust or if you prefer to send them a  cheque, made payable to ‘Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust’ and marked ‘foodbank’ on the reverse, to you can then send it to: The Dalgarno Trust, 1 Webb Close Dalgarno Way, London, W10 5QB.

If you are willing occasionally to drive the donations from the church to the Trust on Thursday then Alex Skourtis would love to hear from you by text or phonecall: 07733268071.   It is only a few minutes drive from the church.

Last but not least we would like to thank everyone who has dropped food off at the church or made generous financial donations over the last year - and we hope you will keep up the good work!
